Previous program windows xp-no problem,windows 7,cannot download pics.HELP!
I have researched with your model and found that drivers are
not available from the manufacturer. However, most of the Still cameras do not
require driver or software to transfer images now a days. Once you connect the Camera to the computer, you will get
the Camera as a removable drive under My Computer. You can open the removable
drive to see the pictures stored in the Camera/Memory Card. If the Operating System installed in your Computer still
needs a driver, you may use the Memory Card slot on the Computer to transfer
the pictures. Please follow the steps to transfer pictures using Memory Card
Reader in the Computer: -
Remove the Memory Card from the Camera. -
Insert it in the Memory Card slot in the Computer. -
Open the pop up window or find out the removable drive under
My Computer. -
Copy the required files to a folder in the Computer. Note : Most of the Notebooks comes with its own Memory Card

If you can get the pics using a card reader, why are you insisting on using the camera and USB cord? Pros always use a card reader.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.
