Cannot get installation disk to open on hp officejet 6300 series.windows 2000,xp cd version 7.0.5.

If you do not have the disk you need to download software from Internet, follow the instructions below,

HP Officejet 6300 All-in-One Printer series - Download drivers

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading,find the file,doubleclick on the file, if you get introubles ,then follow instructions below to reset and reinstall:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website and run the file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Here is a page with all of the software to download for your printer on Windows XP. You are also given the option to order a new CD if you prefer to do it that way.. I would recommend just downloading the driver as chances are the CD will not be free! Best of Luck
