under the glass copier/scanner bed, in the area where the copies eject, there is a clear plastic dial that can be turned either to the "lock" or "unlock" position. Turn this clear plastic dial. Be sure to lock the unit when transporting it.

You need to install adobe reader in your computer for it to recognise pdf format.

The AL1000 drum unit is the same as the AL1641 drum.
I do not recognize the MS1DR as a sharp part number.
You can reset the drum indicator by pressing these keys in sequence:
Press "C" then press "Exposure Mode" then "C" again then "Exposure Mode" again.
Note that the Exposure Mode key is the far left key on the panel.
One you press these 4 keys in sequence the display should go blank. Then key in 24 as if to make 24 copies. Then press Print (Green Button)
Then key in 7 as if to make 7 copies.
Press print again. You should now get flashing 000.
Turn machine off then back on and the light should be gone.
Here it is in a short version:
C, far left, C, far left, 24, print, 7, print,
then power off and back on.
This should make the copier operational again if all you have is the drum light.

Reset the drum count by pressing "Clear" then "Exposure Mode" then "Clear" then "Exposure Mode"
Exposure mode is far left key on panel. You need to do this fairly quickly so that the display goes blank.
Once display goes blank then key in 24 then press print, then key in 7 then press print. You should now be getting flashing 000
Turn machine off then on and light should be gone.
