What does error code F-24 mean on my Whirlpool Duet washer?

The SUD message relates to overdose of detergent detected during the Wash Cycle. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent or excessive suds. If too much detergent was used, run the washer through a Rinse/Spin cycle, then a Normal cycle, without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. Good luck

In a nut shell, usually one of the motor windings fails, causing the Drive Motor to not rotate at the correct rpm, or not at all. Or, the Motor Control Unit fails. Simply unplug the washer for ten minutes. The onboard computer will reset and work like new.
Please understand that you are not being shortchanged. There are hundreds of codes and with this new computer tech. they mostly require a repareman. To save you money the manufacturer has designed it to reset itself after ten minutes to solve most problems. Try this first, you can always call a local pro later if you want.
