Need my printer to work

First time setting up a printer on my own,follow direction but the computer is not responding to the printer

I have installed the cd and have power to the printer, but it will not print.

Help...I have multiple deadlines due.

Ok, try turning off the the printer then reboot the PC to refresh the installation.
