Your MP3 file might not have any content on the right channel. Try another Mp3 file. If the problem occurs on another file check the hardware:
Unplug the headphones from the mp3 player. Try another set of headphones. If the problem occurs with another set of headphones, it is a broken player. If using another set of headphones cures the problem, try your original headphones again. Plug your original headphones back in. If the problem comes back, buy a new set of headphones.
