That answer is correct... the camera will only see pics currently taken on the card... you will not be able to copy pictures back on the card and see through the camera.

digital camera display the thumbnails of the pics and not the files itself...sometimes you can store pics as favorites on your camera to keep viewing but it does not show stored files copied to the camera

Did you put the folder onto the camera using a PC ?
Most cameras make their own file structure, and so you cannot view any added folders. You would have to put the picutres into the folders created by the camera -  usually Card\DCIM\100_1  or similar.
Dont create folders on your card, always put the files into the correct folder.

SOURCE: nothing on camera

Had to grin - this sounds familiar.

Why the pix are buried layers down I don't understand either.
Check your "My Computer" with the camera attached to see if the system sees the storage of it.
It should list it as a "Removable Drive" and (I have a number of drives) assigns 'K' to the camera when it is attached.

If it is shown, double-click on the icon and it should open it without problem.
If it doesn't, you have some lousy driver missing - you may have to reinstall Oly's software.
If it opens there should be a folder shown; my Oly uses DCIM, which, when opened, shows 100OLYMP folder.
This opened shows whatever pix are there.

If nothing works, attach the camera and note that it has established communication with the system, then reboot.
This will often force Blindows to recognize and reinstall missing software ****.

SOURCE: Finepix J12 cannot upload photos onto computer.

Here's the best solution. Get a card reader for your card (available at Walmart, Kmart, Best Buy, etc.) and use it to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Once there, you can do anything you like with them.
