    My washing machine reads a ddo code and will not start I found th emagnet but I do not know where it belongs

    OK, I read another problem/solution with a better description about the magnet, but I followed the directions and I neither find a magnet, nor any place that remotely looks like there used to be a magnet there. So I'm going to assume that I have the 'newer model for which they eliminated the magnet'. So if that's the case, how do I fix this on a washer that doesn't have the magnet??

I have a Fiegidaire Washer that is saying DDO when I try to start it. I replaced the door lock #131763202 but it still did not start and it still said DDO. Now what should I replace.

This indicates a problem with the door interlock switch and until resolved the machine will not start.

The meaning for ddo error means "Dispenser Drawer Open"
To rectify this problem you should try opening and closing the door shut. There will be a magnet which shows that the door is closed or open.The magnet is underneath the dispenser door, you have to remove the dispenser from the washer, then take apart the dispenser itself to view the magnet. If the magnet is missing you have to replace it.

The magnet is underneath the dispenser door, you have to remove the dispenser from the washer, then take apart the dispenser itself, you will see snapping clips to unsnap, then you will see the magnet#8 in diagram#1 here:

Ddo error code on frigidaire front washer
Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error DDo means dispenser drawer open. There is a little magnet attached to the right hand side of the detergent drawer which activates a reed switch to "tell" the machine that the drawer is closed. That magnet might have moved from it's place and that's why you are getting error ddo. magnet is part key number 51. Pull the drawer out and check on the handle part for a magnet. When the drawer is closed the magnet activates a switch in the console that tells the control the detergent drawer is closed. Please check this link for details(part #51)--

We are getting an error code ddo on our wahser?
The DDO error is telling you that the detergent door is open. This error occurs when the detergent door has not latched properly when the unit is started.

There is a sensor that is dependant on a magnet, that is attached to the door, to trip it and send the proper door closed signal to the control oard. If this magnet comes off, or loose the signal will not be sent to the control board, and the error code will be displayed.

Now for the bad news. The magnet is in such a position that a considerable amount of labor is required to replace it.

Unless you are mechanicly inclined and handy with a box of tools I do not recommend that you attempt this repair. It is very involved and is not a DIY repair. It is best to let a tech handle this repair. An approximate price range for this repair is $175.00 to $275.00, or more depending on where you live.

the dispenser drawer has a magnet in it that has to line up with a sensor. if you can put the drawer back in that will solve the problem. if the magnet isn't lost.

Our washer has an error code of DDO.
ok if it is the rigt thing for that code there will be a switch on the door have a pen or some thing you can use to trip the switch to thinking the door is closed. and unplug the unit and replug it in.. todays age every thing has to rebooted
