This is with reference to our Breville BCG450XL grinder. The grinder will not come on. The on-off switch on the lower right hand side is loose, and the cover of the on-off switch can be easily removed by hand. I think I need to replace the on-off switch.

Only way to know for sure is by taking it completely apart and expose all the internal parts
Popping is not a good sign If it is electrical arcing you are playing with fire
or electrocution
If you are mechanically inclined they are not that hard to take apart as long as they have no security screws on it and you have to remember you might be voiding your warranty
But it is fun taking things apart No?
