A horizontal black line on the printout is probably the result of a dirty or damaged roller. There are lots of rollers in the printer, and you can use the space between the lines on the page to determine which roller is causing the problem.
If it is vertical line then it indicate an almost empty or faulty toner cartridge or some spilled toner inside the printer.

if you require further help feel free to ask

mention your model no

how old is your printer ?

Thanks for using Fixya

Faded text every few lines- Canon printer

When you print photos you print in Max dpi, for this no faded lines anywhere. Probably you have a problem only in black color in print head.
Мay be it's partially clogged or partially defective.

Printing every few lines blurry, but not every line.

Printer head is clogged, be sure to clean it until you get the solid lines

My photo prints have lines across them?!

the glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck

Lines on a photo when printed

The print quality usually depends on the program you're using to print them on your pc.
Your camera only ever sends photos to your printer, so the best settings are already selected by the camera and it's built-in photo program.
Your printer doesn't 'know' whether your printing a document or a photo, so the settings for each program on your computer are basic (known as default settings), and need to be changed by you to get the best from your printer
Find the settings that let you alter the printers options (in Word, it's FILE \ PRINT \ PROPERTIES), and make sure the printer output is set to maximum quality, and that photo paper is selected as the paper type.
Some options such as 'maximum quality' only appear when you've chosen 'photo paper', and some printers (such as the ip4300) have seperate options for gloss or matte paper, so go through all of them until you see what you need.

Hope that helps :)

Printer lines in photo's

Click Start - All programs - HP - HP Solution center.

In HP solution center Click on the Printing Shortcuts tab. Select Photoprinting with borders or borderless. Click OK.
Then close the HP solution center. Try printing. Print photos always with Best quality.

If the issue persists check the ink level of both cartridges and use Photos Cartridge HP 58 to print photos. We insert the Photo cartridge in place of black cartridge.

Thanks

Blue lines all over the printing

Did u clean the print nozzle's as well? If that does not solve your problem, you should try and replace the cartridge. (Colour in case of blue lines and black in case of black lines)
