The unit has worked fine for over a year. A month or so ago I got an error message that said "check your region code." Now I have two commercial videos from Netflix and both of them are producing the same problem as described - the display says "reading," then changes to "error" and ejects the disks.

Same problem. Worked fine for a few years, suddenly won't play any DVDs. VCR works - only DVD player problem. Worked one day, and stopped the next. Any ideas?Same problem.
