How do I enter a different ISP into my TG585V7?v

You can log in to your NetZero email account in three ways:

1. When you connect to the Internet via your NetZero service, you are automatically logged-in to your email.
2. If you have DSL, or are using a different ISP to connect to the Internet, you can log in to NetZero email directly by going to http://webmail.netzero.net and entering your Member ID and Password.
3. If you have DSL or are using a different ISP to connect to the Internet, you can log in to NetZero email indirectly by going to http://my.netzero.net and entering your Member ID and Password.

In your new machine's email program, you will have to create a new account, and enter your email name and login information, and all the correct mailserver information same as the old machine.
The exact instructions will be different for each different email program and each email ISP so we can't tell you step by step.

Call your ISP (bigpond) support line or visit their website for instructions on the values to enter into your new email program.

I guess that the router had specs from the zone you buy it.So now you are in other zone and dont had the specs for that zone.

This is normally a problem with your internet connection, try contacting your ISP.. They are going to send a technical guy to verify your Telephone line..

Frequent disconnection are seldom caused by faulty filters.. Try changing your filters you connected on the telephone RJ11 box..

If your other wifi enabled devices are connecting through the router you will need to get a new lease on your iPad. Go to settings, wifi and click on the arrow beside your wireless access point. Then click on renew which is on the bottom of that screen. That should fix it.

There is no way to recover the lost password, although you may reset Thomson TG585 by pressing the reset button located at the back of the modem for few seconds while the modem is power on. The LEDs at the front would blink and the modem will restart with factory defaults setting.

Please note that after RESETTING THE Modem to Factory Defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Please, refer the product guide/manual and make configurations as per the details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Thomson Router rebooting - I am in N.Z. and have the exact same Thomson Wireless Router, TG585v7, Software version 7.4.2.7. My previous D-Link Wireless router never gave me any trouble, as soon as I installed the Thomson, I kept losing connectivity. I could watch it rebooting in front of me, all lights off, restart and reconnect. I complained to my ISP who sent me another - exactly same problem. We were away for a week and it never rebooted once. I started wondering about Wifi devices , we use an HP Ipaq (it won't connect at all to the Thomson but will to other Acess Points) - have turned Ipaq off for days on end to eliminate but Router still rebooting several times a day. My wife has an Apple IPod and it seems "perhaps" it's when that is charging that we have problems. We are working through that isolation now, I'd be interested to know if you have other wireless enabled equipment - could even be a neighbour's unit interfering.

That is correct, you cannot. It was not designed to be removed. You can dissasemble the unit and install a new antenna, which will require some electronics background but it can be done.

You need to log on to the router using the default gateway.
Go to Start menu -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
type ipconfig
Note the default gateway
open your browser, in the address bar type in the default gateway ip address - like 192.168.1.254 --- or whatever the IP is.

That should open your router config pages... if it asks you for a user name and password... default usernames depend on your ISP usually, but try for the username Admin, admin, Administrator, administrator and for the password try the same as the username or leave blank... If you have no luck contact your ISP for logging on details.

A web page will open - go to
Toolbox
Game And Application Sharing
At top right click configure
Make sure UPnP and Extended Security are selected if you have those options
Then at the bottom
Create a New Game or Application
from there you just need to select which protocols you need to work with or select ANY
Enter the port you want opened
and add the same port number to the destination / trigger port.

That should be you. If not you need to telnet into you router
Telnet <default gateway IP>
and type Menu
The follow the previous instructions.
