The problem merely on the hard disk.the hard disk is not stable there must be bad sector on it that after the installed program reach the bad sector the problem occurs .It's going to crash replace your hard disk or the to run scandisk on other computer and scan your hard disk....click tthe automatic fix bad sectors ...thank you and good luck!
Windows updates generally will not cause this type of problem, unless of course it installed a BIOS update, which is not likely. Try to enter your BIOS setup and see if any of your settings have changed, such as the drives. If not, try to boot the system into safe mode. You can do this by hitting the key during POST. If you can, let me know and we will work from here.
The updates weren't the cause of the failure, they were just the straw that broke the camel's back: one of the power regulators on the board was failing from a long time ago (age related, nothing you or anyone has done) and the effort required by the intense activity or installing the updates has caused it to fail for good.
I'm afraid that there is nothing left to do - hardware failure. Sorry, time for a new motherboard.

I would appreciate a little more help, after being in the electronics industry for 40 or more years I am quite capable of changing a regulator! Rather than scrap the board
