E-121 refers to the Controller cooling Fan (FM4). The fan is dead, or perhaps something is blocking it and preventing rotation. There could also be a short or open in the circuit. Fan vents on the right rear side of the copier. (Facing the front). If the back cover is removed the fan is located (Facing Rear) at the left side of the machine next to the Main Controller Box. Try blowing out the fan it may be plugged with dust Bunnies.

The controller cooling fan is faulty. Fan Motor 4 ( FM4) Or worst case the DC controller board. Try the fan. Located on the right side rear up close to the top. I believe there is a filter there that could be stopped up. You also could remove the fan motor and drop a couple of drops of oil on the shaft and see if this helps. Good luck! Unplug the copier before you get in there!!
