I have a problem with the Sony VPL-CS3 Projector, in which it doesn't light up and the Lamp/Cover light is blinking orange while the On/Standby light is blinking red, and I don't have the remote as well.  Please advise.

The lamp cover has a safety interlock device so the unit will not come on if the cover is missing, maybe the safety interlock is faulty or the part of the cover that engages the safety has come away. Other than that I'm not sure what the poblem would be. That is were I would start.
