You have done the correct thing by ordering timer and motor. Once you install them your problem will be solved.
As the timer is not working the refrigerator is not cut off and runs continuously. So the freezer become very cold and due to that the side becomes wormer than usual, because heat exchanger is doing its job.
If you keep your temperature settings at the lowest then the side of the fridge will become colder.
There is a knob in the freezer by which you can divert the cold air to the refrigerator compartment below. This will prevent excessive cooling in the freezer.
The door between the freezer and the compartment below is not user viewable or adjustable. So do not try to find that. The freezer/refrigerator adjustment switch should be used to use the door for diverting cold air to bottom.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge.The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.
The opening should be at the top probably behind the plastic removable cover.

If it is the evaporator fan it is running. If i open the freezer door and hold the two door switch buttons, very cold air blows down. I am sure that it IS the "flap" or it's control.
Tell me more specifically how to get to the flap. When looking from inside the freezer with the plastic covers in place, I see nothing. From above the freezer i see a division in the foam insulation going into the fridge, but I do not see the flap.
How do I remove the plastic removeable covers to get to the flap?
Very cold air blows down in the freezer. I am sure that it IS the flap or it's control.
Please tell me specifically how to get to the flap including how to remove the platic removeable covers.

Your comments haven't been helpful at all. In my original post I said "I read that there is a door between the refrig and freezer, Where is it and how do I check it? Suggestions?"
Unless you can tell me specifically where the baffle door is and how to get to it, then I am going to ask for a refund.
The new timer is installed and working. The "de" flashing alarm is gone.
The freezer is worlking perfectly. However the refrigerator is still warm regardless of it's temperature setting on the control. By warm, I mean above 60 degrees farenheit.
The cold air from the freezer section is not getting to the refrigerator section.
The evaporator fan blowing across the frosted coils is working.
How can I get the cold air into the refrigerator?
