Hi,
If you have a slide out chassis then slide the unit out and the drain will be in the back corner of the pan...you can then easily see it and get it open...
If it does not slide out then look in the back corners for a hole and use a wire to get the hole open...DO NOT run a drill up in there, you will drill a hole in the coil!!! I have fix a few of those..:-)

Hello, if there is no drain hole under the unit then it uses the fan blade to sling water on the condenser to evaporate the condensate. Some window units are made this way instaed of using a drain hole.

Unit cools then sound like hissing noise then stops cooling sound like relief
Hi, this hissing you hear is the head pressure getting very high in the system due to the out door coil is very dirty. It shuts the compressor down until it cools off again, then repeats its self again. Take a water hose and wash down the outdoor coil being careful not to flatten the aluminum fins. This will solve your problem! Good luck,

Water Leaking into room
if you can see a drain blow backwards through it.It may also just be angled the wrong direction(the whole unit).If you cant see an external drain,unplug the unit and take the cover off .you should then be able to clear it.
