Power tilt and power stearing wheel adjustments stopped working. Passenger seat side is OK. Is this a fuse problem? Is there a reset.
I have the same problem. Seat and steering column just stopped working. Passenger side normal. No fuse for these components. With so many postings witht he same problem there has to be a defective or worn out source. Please post if you find a solution!
I Have a 2003 X5 also with same problem. Drivers side seat stop working, also steering column. Passenger side still working. When I move the switches I have a clicking noise as if power is getting there but not enough to move the motors controlling the seat. It is strange that so many of this model has the same problem. I will go now and try all connections and let you know the outcome. Ross
Looking for the same thing. 2002 X5 Driver Seat and Steering Column move only a fraction of an inch with each click but passanger seat OK. I have read things from move the steering column all the way in and out, up and down (a thousand clicks) to relearn the limits, to a broken switch. The first didn't work and haven't taken the seat apart to look at the switch as that has not been posted specifically for this problem.
I finally took mine to the dealer a couple weeks ago and they told me it was the seat switch and both steering column motors (tilt & telescopic) for $1700 which of course I did not do. Odds of both motors for the steering column failing at the same time.... hmmm. Remarkably, after paying $180 for the diagnostics and the dealer having my X5 for 2 days, the seat now works. The memory and the steering column don't but at least someone shorter than me can drive it without the use of a pillow... sorry this is not a solution but wanted everyone know what the dealer diagnosed.

I have a 2004 325ci, passenger seat would not move backward or forward. Got underneath seat with flashlight and "jiggled" all the wires. PRESTO! Seat works now. Its obviously a loose wire and I think there is a fuse under the seat also. Check out http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=181402

I have a 2002 BMW x5. My driver side power seats, steering wheel, and power lock, and latch to truck stopped working all at the same time. I am not sure if these electrical problems can be solved by fixing one problem or if all have to be addressed individually. Seems odd that this all happened at once. No help from BMW, they are too busy trying to collect money instead of helping people fairly.
Same problem here. Just happened the other day. I read somewhere that the steering wheel and driver seat were connected somehow. Wiring harness might be lose or something. Still searching for a solution. I do find it odd though, if I hit the power seat switch repeatidly it will move very slooowly. Do you have the same thing happening?
I have the same problem as well, I was hoping to come on here for a solution. The recline works on my drivers seat, but the head rest and upper back recline does not, my steering wheel does not work either. Moving the seat forward, backward, up and down works fine as well though.
Same problem! BMW's customer service has no service. Driver's seat power is completely gone now but the steering tilt will move slooowly each time I press the lever. BTW I have a 03' X5.
driver seat and steering adjuster not working .fuse not blown
same things happen to me
